Cleaning and Washing

Cleaning is the process of distributing water or other cleaning liquids over a product or surface to remove contaminants. BETE spray nozzles can significantly enhance this cleaning process by providing a targeted spray over the target area. This uniform spray coverage ensures consistent and repeatable results, maximizing the impact and use of the cleaning media. Large volumes of cleaning liquids or high pressures are used to maximize the effectiveness of the cleaning process on stubborn residues.
Types of spray nozzles for cleaning
Contamination can be classified into three categories, which can limit the type of cleaning or washing nozzle suitable for your application. The following information serves as a guideline to help you choose the right nozzle.
Class 1 – Light contamination
Examples: powder mixers, mixing abrasive powders, liquid chemicals, vegetable and fruit products
• The soil is liquid residue or light powder and is not anchored to the surface, can be easily wiped away.
• Spray impact is not a significant factor.
Class 2 – Moderate contamination
Examples: conveyor belts, machine parts, oils, paints, adhesives, cooking kettles, and fermentation tanks
• The soil is anchored to the surface or product.
• Strategy of impact, temperature, and chemicals needed to remove the soil.
• Repeated wetting, impact, and some chemicals needed to remove dirt.
• Washing and rinsing is necessary.
Class 3 – Heavy contamination
Examples: paints, varnishes, asphalt, molasses, printing inks, tar, heavy chemicals
• The soil is heavily caked onto the surface.
• Longer dwell time aids the cleaning process.
• Spray impact breaks down the contamination from the surface.
• Solid stream flows are often used.
Types of spray nozzles for cleaning
Flat spray nozzles are often very suitable for cleaning conveyor belts. When something is in motion and needs to be cleaned, flat spray nozzles are often the best choice. If a high impact force is required for cleaning, our flat spray nozzles from the wide range will provide optimal results. The SPN series (with extra-long "spoons") or the NF series (with a narrow spray angle of up to 65˚) deliver significant impact force even at relatively low pressure. The NFH series, with a wear-resistant spray opening made of tungsten carbide, is often the best choice at high pressure. In addition to flat spray nozzles, we can also offer flat spray tips in the BJ and BJH series, complete with threaded nipple and swivel nut, giving you great flexibility in exchanging different sizes.
EXAIR also offers air knives and other solutions for cleaning and washing.
