Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD)

Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD)

Reduces sulfur emissions by chemically treating flue gases.
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD)

In modern degassing installations, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, and hydrogen fluoride are often removed by adding a washing solution that is evenly distributed in the absorber through spray nozzles.

Flue Gas Desulfurization with Water Sprays

Chemicals can create toxic gas clouds if they accidentally leak or are exposed to atmospheric conditions. Reducing accidental discharges of these gases can often be achieved with water sprays having small average droplet sizes, maximizing the surface-to-volume ratio and achieving the greatest contact between the water and the toxic gas.

Flue Gas Desulfurization with BETE's Spray Nozzles

BETE is one of the world's leading manufacturers of special spray nozzles for desulfurizing flue gases. The nozzles are developed according to customer specifications and tested in the BETE spray laboratory. Characteristics of this type of spray nozzle include:

  • manufactured from highly wear-resistant ceramic material;
  • simple and clog-resistant design;
  • a defined droplet spectrum;
  • often lightweight (when applied on ships).

We also have extensive experience with industrial spray nozzles in combination with droplet separators.
