Odor Control
Many industrial processes involving organic compounds generate unpleasant odors that need to be treated to make the living environment acceptable through odor control. There are various common applications within the industry, such as wastewater treatment plants, waste transfer stations, food processing facilities, and chemical processing plants.
Different methods of odor control
There are roughly three ways to control odor (combat stench): masking with coverants, neutralizing with deodorants, or treating with absorbent substances. Mist nozzles often work best for most applications due to the large number of very small droplets. The smaller the droplets, the more surface area is available to combat the odor. Odor control is commonly found in wastewater treatment facilities and other facilities that process organic compounds.
Odor control with BETE nozzles
In open-type scrubber systems, BETE nozzles are effective because of the fine droplet size they produce, which increases the reaction surface area or absorbs the odor. In gas scrubber systems, BETE axial swirl nozzles are generally the most effective for achieving uniform distribution over the packing surface and ensuring that no gas passes through the packing untreated.
Odor control using EmiControls
Odor control through water misting is an innovative solution from EmiControls. The odor controllers ensure that 60 to 80% of unpleasant odors are neutralized (according to standard UNI EN 13725). Currently, the EmiControls turbine is the only one that can automatically dose the odor control agent. This agent is harmless to humans, animals, and the environment. There is also the possibility of working with ammonia. In this way, odor control is made possible for many different applications, from the food industry to wastewater treatment plants.
