Powerful cleaning: Miele and BETE full cone nozzles in action
Collaboration with the Nijmegen Regional Fire Department
At the request of the Nijmegen Regional Fire Department, a study was initiated to further enhance the effectiveness of these industrial washing machines, with a priority on improving the cleaning of the air hose holder. As a result, Spraybest was asked about the possibilities regarding the spray nozzles.
From Spraybest's analysis came the recommendation to replace the spray nozzles with BETE full cone spray nozzles. It was expected that these rotating spray nozzles would distribute the cleaning agent more evenly over the harnesses. Additionally, the rotating spray nozzles provide greater impact force of the droplets, which would lead to further improvement in the cleaning results.
BETE HydroWhirl
Spraybest's recommendation was adopted, and testing with the spray nozzles began. During the testing, BETE HydroWhirl spray nozzles with various flow rates and spray angles were used. The tests were conducted on-site at the customer's location, the Nijmegen Fire Department, which owns Miele washing machines.
The Result
The initial result from the test was that the rotating spray nozzles significantly improved the cleaning outcome. However, this still did not meet the standards of Miele and its customer. After further analysis of the data from the test, Spraybest, in consultation with Miele, decided to develop a customer-specific spray nozzle.
The difference between this special nozzle and the standard one is that the special nozzle has been adjusted to ensure that certain hard-to-reach parts of the safety harness are now also effectively included in the cleaning process. This new nozzle, combined with further fine-tuning of other factors within the washing process, has resulted in the desired cleaning outcome: namely, removing 95% of the soot from the harnesses in a single wash cycle.
Through close collaboration with our customer Miele, sharing knowledge and experience, we have successfully addressed this highly specific challenge. The result for Miele is a satisfied customer and a newly realized washing technique.
